Jovita Carranza Nominated to Head SBA

April 9, 2019

Following the late-March announcement of the departure of Linda McMahon as Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), President Donald Trump announced his plans to nominate Jovita Carranza, the current U.S. treasurer, to the post.

Having previously served Deputy Administrator for the SBA in the George W. Bush administration, Carranza brings a wealth of experience as the nominee to head SBA. As the U.S. Treasurer since 2017, Carranza oversees the Office of Consumer Policy, all U.S. Mint operations and works with the Federal Reserve.

Carranza will effectively take over as Acting Administrator for SBA after McMahon’s last day at the SBA on April 12.
