June 11, 2014

pic-congress-hearingOn Wednesday, June 25, the National Regulatory Fairness Board will hold a hearing in Washington, D.C. at which NSBA has been invited to testify. The hearing is designed to provide small-business owners a platform to share their concerns with the most egregious federal regulations facing their firms.

The hearing is being organized by the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of the National Ombudsman and will be held at the Environmental Protection Agency from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The hearing, held just one day following NSBA’s Washington Presentation—also in Washington, D.C.–will feature, in addition to National Ombudsman Brian Castro, SBA Region III Regulatory Fairness Board Chair Muriel Watkins and Board members Louis Hutt, Jr., Dona Storey and Marilyn Landis, who also happens to be a past-chair and current board member of NSBA.

Attendees of the NSBA Washington Presentation are encouraged to attend the hearing. Any small-business owner is welcome to testify but must register by this Friday, June 13. Those who wish to testify will be required to submit a written statement in advance of the hearing.

To register, or for more information, please call the Ombudsman’s office at 202-205-2417 or email ombudsman-events@sba.gov.
