Washington, D.C. – The National Small Business Association (NSBA) has elected its 2014 leadership, led by Mr. Jeffrey Van Winkle of Clark Hill in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Formally elected in December, Van Winkle outlined his belief in the important role NSBA can play in the coming year as a pragmatic, nonpartisan, member-driven small-business organization.

“Serving in various leadership roles here at NSBA, Jeff has helped usher in some very exciting projects for NSBA,” stated NSBA President Todd McCracken. “Whether through his work on access to capital and investment issues or his efforts to improve small business access to legal advice, Jeff is a tireless advocate for small business and will serve NSBA well in the coming year.”

As a former chair of the Small Business Association of Michigan—one of NSBA’s regional affiliates—and member of the law firm Clark Hill, Van Winkle has built a reputation representing small businesses and entrepreneurs with special expertise in investment and securities, international trade and a wide array of critical business activities. He has testified before Congress and the Michigan legislature on small-business issues. Known for his thoughtful leadership style and uncompromising dedication to furthering entrepreneurship in Michigan, Illinois and across the country, Van Winkle’s decades advocating for small business make him an ideal fit to lead NSBA in 2014.

Van Winkle will take over for David Ickert of Air Tractor in Olney, Texas who heralded NSBA through a year marked with unprecedented Congressional strife in the face of serious economic challenges.

“Serving as the Chair of NSBA is a job I take very seriously,” stated Van Winkle. “America faces serious challenges which will require strong leadership and bipartisanship. If there is any organization that can serve as an example of how to bring people of all political persuasions together, it’s NSBA.”

NSBA is proud to welcome Van Winkle as the 2014 Chair and looks forward to a productive and impactful year.

Celebrating more than 75 years in operation, NSBA is a member-driven nonpartisan organization advocating on behalf of America’s entrepreneurs. NSBA’s 65,000 members represent every state and every industry in the U.S., and we are proud to be the nation’s first small-business advocacy organization. Please visit www.nsba.biz.
