NSBA Remembers Mike MitternightOctober 12, 2016
NSBA and the small-business community have lost a strong leader and key advocate with the passing this week of Michael Mitternight. Mr. Mitternight had served on the NSBA Board of Trustees for nine years, most recently as Vice Chair for Advocacy. He had played a key role in shaping the association’s approach to a number of issues, most notably health care reform and workforce regulation.
Mr. Mitternight was the owner and operator of Factory Service Agency in Metairie, Louisiana for 39 years and was a business leader on state and local issues in Louisiana, as well as on the national stage. In addition to his work at NSBA, he was a long-time member of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), where he was Chairman of the Board in 2006. A winner of many business awards, Mr. Mitternight was a past winner of the Lew Shattuck Small Business Advocate of the Year award from NSBA.
In addition to his vast small-business advocacy work, Mr. Mitternight was a member of the Louisiana Air National Guard and a former Local Health Services director for the Louisiana Department of Health.
