SBA Nominee Brings Acquisition Expertise

April 5, 2017

Among a handful of nominations by President Donald Trump sent to the Senate last week was the nomination of Althea Coetzee as Deputy Administrator of the U.S.  Small Business Administration (SBA).

Rear Admiral Coetzee is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. Following nearly a decade with the Navy, Coetzee continued in the Navy Reserve as she worked in both the public and private sectors, and owned her own small business. After being recalled to active duty in 2011, Coetzee has made a mark in the acquisition community as the Chief of Staff to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics.

NSBA welcomes the nomination of Ms. Coetzee and looks forward to working with her to ensure small business has a seat at the table in procurement policy discussions, and is given fair and equal access to the federal marketplace.
