Senate Hearing on PPPMarch 17, 2021
The U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship will hold a hearing titled “The Paycheck Protection Program: Performance, Impact, and Next Steps,” today, March 17, at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
Since its beginning, the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) has provided more than 7.5 million loans to small businesses, totaling more than $682 billion. Following the January restart of the program, it has approved 2.4 million loans worth over $164 billion. This current round of PPP loans included improvements from the Economic Aid Act (which restarted the PPP after passing in December) and the changes added by the Biden Administration last month. These improvements are improving PPP loan access for more smaller and vulnerable borrowers.
The hearing will be livestreamed here.
