Estate Tax Repeal Bills Introduced
February 1, 2017 10:34 amLegislation has been introduced in both the Senate and House to abolish the federal estate tax.
Legislation has been introduced in both the Senate and House to abolish the federal estate tax.
This week, the House is expected to vote on the Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015, which would permanently repeal the estate tax, the first House vote on stand-alone repeal legislation since 2005.
Dozens of temporary tax provisions, or "extenders" are scheduled to expire at the end of 2013 given their exclusion from the broader budget deal and the fact that the House already has recessed for the year with the Senate recess slotted to begin at the end of this week.
