The House Committee on Rules is laying the groundwork to reconcile its energy bill with the Senate's version, both of which targed the U.S. energy infrastructure and its vulnerabilities.
The Senate recently approved the Energy Policy Modernization Act which avoids controversial energy topics like climate change but does address many bipartisan energy priorities.
A Senate energy bill continues to be mired in the amendments process, first over aid efforts for Flint, Michigan, and now with a hold on language concerning off-shore drilling.
This week, the Senate will resume consideration of an energy bill which will increase energy efficiency requirements, simplify investments in infrastructure and increase security in the nation’s power grid.
