´╗┐The full Senate is now considering the comprehensive immigration reform legislation with many amendments being offered, including a handful of NSBA-supported amendments. A final vote is anticipated prior to the July 4th recess.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to finish their markup of the immigration reform bill later this week, capping off a roughly 3-week mark-up which included more than 300 amendments. NSBA continues to track and weigh-in on two key areas of importance to small business: guest workers and mandatory E-Verify.

Bipartisan Immigration Reform Bill Introduced

The highly-anticipated immigration reform package from the gang of eight was introduced late last night which, while NSBA is still pouring over its 844 pages, includes a host of provisions that will impact small business, specifically increasing and changing guest worker visa programs and mandating E-Verify for all employers.
