The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to finish their markup of the immigration reform bill later this week, capping off a roughly 3-week mark-up which included more than 300 amendments. This week, the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary will continue their mark-up of the immigration reform bill, taking up guest worker language and likely moving later in the week to E-Verify.
Tomorrow, the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary will begin to mark-up the broad immigration reform bill introduced by the gang of eight, and will entertain a host of amendments on issues ranging from H-1B visas to E-Verify.
A bipartisan group of senators –– the so-called gang of eight –– is expected to release a broad immigration reform proposal later this week which is said to address issues such as highly-skilled worker visas, temporary worker programs and mandatory E-Verify.
Three proposals on immigration were announced this week: two broad reform proposals, one from a bipartisan group of Senators the other from the President; and another bipartisan Senate bill aimed at high-skilled workers.
