U.S. to Celebrate Small Business Week

April 25, 2018

Next week, the nation will recognize National Small Business Week, April 29 – May 5, 2018. The festivities, organized by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), will feature the first-ever National Small Business Week Virtual Conference, which will include mentoring sessions as well as educational webinars.

Kicking off the week will be SBA’s awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. where SBA Administrator Linda McMahon will recognize national award winners and name this year’s national Small Business Person of the Year. McMahon will then travel to SBA events in Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Other events planned during the week include the National Small Business Week Hackathon where any interested (and registered) individual can gather with other like-minded people in Washington, D.C. to spend the weekend working on solutions to real business challenges. SBA will also headline the National Small Business Week Bus Tour which will include Administrator McMahon’s aforementioned stops in Florida, South Caroline and North Carolina, and include an additional stop in Savannah, Ga.

Wrapping-up the week, there will be a National Small Business Week Twitter Chat which will be held on Friday, May 4 at 12:00 p.m. EDT discussing on how to start and grow a small business with tips and tricks from SBA experts. #SmallBusinessWeek

Every year since 1963, SBA has highlighted the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small-business owners, and other small-business supporters from across the nation through National Small Business Week.
